K0KI - Six Sparks and A Gap

At the Field Day site, 10,500 ft in the mountains west of Denver, CO.

Gary, KN0V operating CW. He drove 900 miles from Minnesota
for Field Day in the Colorado Rocky Mtns! Gary and I operated our
first ARRL Field Day in 1969.

John, K4ZI trying to keep the little generator running, used for lights in the
"kitchen" area of camp.. Our 100w HF station runs off deep-cycle
batteries and a solar panel..

It gets cold at night when you're TWO MILES HIGH in the Rockies,
so we always have a blazing campfire (KN0V, K0KI).

At our FD site there's plenty of room for other recreational activities ...

On the highway after FD, Quandary Peak (14,265 ft), near the top of Hoosier
Pass. This is the west side of the Continental Divide, south of Dillon, CO.

Station Equipment: TS-450S, AT-11 auto-tuner, Heathkit 4:1 Balun, laptop
running TR LOG by N6TR software, various keyers, wire Vee-beam 350 ft
long on each leg (aimed E/W).

K0KI - Final Score 1998 (Class 1A):
1287 QSO's (900 cw, 387 ssb) + bonus pts = 5266 points.
